Frugal or Cheap

I was looking for the ‘Word of the Week’ and decided to look up frugal. I consider myself frugal, Mrs PR sometimes disagrees and thinks I am cheap. At the bottom of the post I have a link to a frugal or cheap quiz. In my research I visited many websites and laughed at how many funny things there was about being frugal or cheap. Some of the comments were on people reusing toiletries to stealing condiment packages from restaurants to use later. There are so many funny comparisons online, you should check out when you have a few hours to laugh. There seems to be a fine line between frugal and cheap. Here are a few examples at Investopedia that I thought explained being frugal or cheap;

A frugal person puts people and experiences above savings
A cheap person won’t even buy necessities.

A frugal person cares about the value of something
A cheap person cares about the cost of something

A frugal person tries to get the lowest price on things, but spend a lot on items they really care about.
A cheap person tries to get the lowest price on everything.

Cheap people think short term. Frugal people think long term

Being cheap is about spending less; being frugal is about prioritizing your spending so that you can have more of the things you really care about.

If you are wondering how I scored – I am in the your frugal good job category.
